I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Clinical Supervisor. I have been extensively trained in Family Systems, Family Structural, and Eco-Systemic Family Therapy. In my work, I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Gottman’s method for couples.
I provide counseling online and in the Keep Counsel office in Raleigh NC. In sessions, I help my clients create time to dedicate themselves to the things they most deeply want, need, and care about. Depression, anxiety, shame and anger are often the early warning signs that there are things that matter to you that you might have neglected, compromised or given up on. In sessions, I can help you learn to decode and use their messages to rebuild a life that feels more fulfilling and meaningful.
I sit on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, which works with approving and funding services and pilot programs in Wake County for at-risk youth involved with the Justice System.
I am also the Executive Chair of the Legislative Breakfast on Mental Health. This Non-Profit organization brings together Mental Health Executives, Insurance Leadership, Legislators, Congressmen, Senior level Executives with Department of Health and Human Services and Clients from across NC to speak about the most important mental health issues relevant to our citizens in an annual conference held in Chapel Hill.

Expert in DBT, Family dynamics, Parenting Skills and Executive Functioning, Life Transitions.
I am a native Carolinian specifically from Johnston County or “JOCO”. I received my Master’s Degree from NC State University as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I started my career working in Child Protective Services helping at risk you and families to better support one another and access mental health and other resources for stability.
Recently I have worked as an Intensive Outpatient Clinician working with teens that are dually diagnosed Mental Health and Addiction. In IOP we offered a supportive environment where teens receives intensive therapy while maintaining their daily activities. I worked with these youth 3 times a week in group therapy sessions. We primarily focused on DBT skills and ways that they could regulate their emotions and learn to self soothe. We would also incorporate family therapy and parenting support to better aide the youth. As I worked in this high intensity program I also continued to support youth and parents in individual therapy and focused on ADHD, Executive Functioning, Anger Management, Mood Disorders, Couples counseling and Parenting Support.
My various experiences have allowed me to better understand conflicts and difficult dynamics with families, youth and parents. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I specialize in Trauma, Families, Parenting and Executive Functioning, ADHD, Students, Life Transitions, Autism and Male Issues. When I am not in session I enjoy working out (I compete in power-lifting competitions), playing with my German Shepherd and spending time with my wife.
Come on by and Schedule a session with me.
