Lauren Smith
LCSWA

Lauren Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) with a deep passion for helping individuals and couples cultivate emotional wellness, self-awareness, and meaningful connection. Before entering the field of social work, Lauren served on the Board of Directors for SAFEchild for six years, where her dedication to supporting families and preventing child abuse inspired her to return to school to pursue her Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2021.
Lauren completed her clinical training at Triangle Family Services, where she provided individual and family counseling and case management services. She later joined Keep Counsel as an intern and now continues her work as a counselor with the practice, offering therapy for individuals and couples.
Her approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method Level 1 Couples Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Lauren believes in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and incorporates a holistic and spiritually grounded perspective into her work. She creates a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their stories, develop inner clarity, and move toward healing and balance.
When she is not facilitating therapy, you can usually find her throwing competitive darts, on a tennis court or spending quality time with her teenage children and their lively labradoodle, Buster.
